Device preview
Projects, notes, profiles, and imported text are saved in your browser’s local storage. They remain on that browser and device unless you choose to export them or bring them into a signed-in account. Clearing browser data can remove that copy. Download a backup from Your space.
Account sign-in and cloud storage
You can sign in with Google or request a one-time code sent to an email address you can open. Google may provide your email address, name, and profile image; email-code sign-in provides your verified email address. Storymantle uses those details to identify your account. Google Drive is a separate, optional connection that you choose if you want to use it. Signed-in projects are stored using Supabase, with access rules tied to your account. The service operator can administer the backend; cloud storage is not end-to-end encrypted.
Manuscripts and voice
You choose which Word, text, and Markdown files to import. Manuscript edits save to your device and signed-in account. If you connect Google Drive, you can choose to export a new Google Doc copy. Your draft continues saving in Storymantle, and you choose when to export another copy. Recovery drafts and earlier versions stay in this browser. Live dictation uses your browser’s speech service, which may process audio through its own provider. Storymantle saves the text you review and submit; it does not store the audio. Choosing Organize my thoughts sends the selected text to OpenAI to suggest characters, places, notes, and story beats. Ask your story sends the chapters most likely to hold your answer, for that question only. You review the suggestions before saving. OpenAI does not use API inputs and outputs for model training by default. OpenAI may retain customer content in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days unless Zero Data Retention is enabled. Storymantle does not send your writing for organization until you choose that action. See OpenAI’s API data controls.
Hosting and feedback
Vercel hosts the site and may process technical request data to operate it. App feedback sends from inside Storymantle to the people who build it, with your sign-in email as the reply address; only include story details or screenshots you want to share. Storymantle does not sell your writing or run advertising trackers.

Export a restorable backup or readable Markdown from Your space. For help accessing, correcting, or deleting cloud account data, email natwalstead@gmail.com. Please keep a separate copy of important writing while testing.
